On Sunday, October 4, 2009 the Monmouth County Fire Marshal’s Office held the 2009 Monmouth County Medal Day/Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service at the Asbury's Park Firefighter Park located on Main Street in Asbury Park.

Mr. Anthony (Tony) Vecchio, Keyport Fire Prevention Official, was presented with the Monmouth County Fire Prevention Inspector of the Year award.

In honor of this great achievement, Mayor Bergen and members of the Council presented Mr. Vecchio with a Certificate of Recognition as Fire Inspector of th year on October 13, 2009.
