1/22/2016 - Winter Storm Advisory

Please Readcarefully to this important message form the Borough of Keyport.

The National Weather Service has issued a Blizzard Warning for late Friday night into Sunday morning. Heavy snow
is expected to fall overnight on Friday accompanied by gusting winds which may cause whiteout conditions. Total
snow accumulations of 10 to 18 inches are possible. Travel during this period is expected to be hazardous.

The storm will coincide with a full moon and associated high tides. Storm surge may be as high as three feet.
Do not attempt to drive through standing water.

Please take steps now to be prepared. Secure your property from blizzard conditions, high winds and high tides.

 Purchase needed food and supplies before snow fall commences.

 Look in on elderly and disabled neighborhoods and relatives to help them be prepared.

 During the storm, stay indoors, and avoid unnecessary travel. Be prepared in the event of power interruption.

 Park your vehicles in your driveway whenever possible to facilitate borough snow removal efforts.

 Borough ordinances require that snow must be removed from your side walk with 24 hours of the end of the storm.

 Please adopt a fire hydrant near your home. Dig it out and do not pile snow around it. The home you save may be your own.
