The Keyport Water Department will commence Hydrant Flushing of the water distribution system on Monday October 1, 2012 between the hours of 9:00 PM - 2:00 AM.  The work is scheduled to be completed by Friday, October 12, 2012. 

Regular flushing is required by the State of NJ and is performed in order to improve aesthetic quality of the water by removing any accumulated non-harmful sediments in the water remains.  The quality of the water will not be affected, although some temporary discoloration or reduction in pressure may occur briefly in the area being flushed.  Residents are advised to CHECK THE WATER before washing clothing.
